Find the best lash glue for eyelash extensions. Learn how drying speed, salon conditions and technique affect which professional lash adhesive suits you.

Choosing the best lash glue for eyelash extensions isn't simply about finding the fastest-drying or strongest adhesive. The right professional lash adhesive should match your working speed, technique and salon environment. A glue that works perfectly for one lash artist may feel completely different for another, which is why understanding how an adhesive fits into your workflow is more important than choosing based on drying speed alone.

How to Choose the Best Lash Glue for Eyelash Extensions

Drying speed is one of the most important things to consider when choosing lash glue. Your adhesive needs to give you enough time to isolate, dip, position and attach the extension properly. If the adhesive dries faster than you can work, it may begin curing before you've achieved the placement you want. On the other hand, if it dries too slowly for your technique, lashes may move after placement and interrupt your workflow.

This is why LashLock offers different adhesive speeds rather than one formula for every artist. P has a 3–5 second drying time and provides the longest working time. P+ dries in approximately 2–3 seconds and is suited to artists who are developing their speed and confidence. S is a balanced 1-professional lash gluesecond adhesive designed for experienced everyday salon work, while S+ dries in approximately 0.5–1 second for advanced artists who work quickly. LED is designed specifically for use with compatible LED lash systems and cures under controlled light.

The fastest lash glue isn't necessarily the best lash glue. The better choice is the formula that keeps pace with the way you naturally work.

Consider Your Salon Environment

Your salon environment also affects how conventional lash adhesive behaves. Temperature and humidity can influence curing speed, so the same adhesive may feel different when working conditions change. This is particularly relevant for lash artists working in Singapore and other humid climates, where air-conditioning and changes in room humidity can affect the working environment throughout the day.

Keeping your lash room within the recommended conditions for your adhesive can help create a more predictable experience. A hygrometer is useful for monitoring temperature and humidity around your lash bed, but always follow the recommended working conditions provided for the specific adhesive you're using rather than assuming every glue performs the same way.

Faster Lash Glue Isn't Always Better

It can be tempting to move towards an ultra-fast adhesive as you become more experienced, but faster doesn't automatically mean better or more professional. A 0.5–1 second lash glue is useful when an artist can consistently place an extension within that short working window. For someone working at a more measured pace, a 2–3 second or even 3–5 second formula may provide better control.

Choosing an adhesive that is too fast for your technique can make application unnecessarily difficult. The goal isn't to use the fastest formula available. It's to find a drying speed that feels natural enough that you aren't constantly adjusting your technique around your glue.

Lash Retention Is More Than Just the Glue

Strong retention is naturally one of the main things lash artists look for when choosing professional eyelash extension glue, but retention isn't determined by the adhesive alone. Lash preparation, cleanliness, attachment, the amount of adhesive used, working speed, temperature, humidity and client aftercare can all influence how well a set retains.

If you're experiencing retention problems, changing to a different glue isn't always the first solution. Consider the entire application process and working environment. Even a high-performing professional adhesive needs the right preparation, placement and conditions to perform as intended.

Don't Overlook Adhesive Freshness and Storage

How lash glue is stored can also affect its performance. Heat, moisture and repeated exposure to air can change an adhesive over time, so proper storage is just as important as choosing the right formula.

LashLock's conventional adhesives — P, P+, S and S+ — have a shelf life of up to 6 months unopened, subject to proper storage and the expiry information stated on the product. Once opened, they should be used within 3 months. LashLock LED adhesive has a shorter shelf life of up to 3 months unopened and 1 month after opening, subject to proper storage and the product's expiry information.

LashLock adhesives come in 5ml bottles, making them practical for professional salon use while helping artists work through their adhesive within its recommended usage period.

Conventional Lash Glue or LED Lash Glue?

Traditional lash adhesives and LED lash adhesives work differently. Conventional lash glue cures according to its formulation and surrounding conditions, while LED lash adhesive is specifically formulated for use with a compatible LED lash system and cures under controlled light.

For artists using conventional eyelash extension techniques, the main choice between P, P+, S and S+ comes down to working speed and environment. Artists already using, or planning to adopt, an LED lash system should use an adhesive specifically designed for that system and follow the relevant equipment and application instructions.

Neither method is automatically better for every lash artist. The right choice depends on your technique, equipment and preferred way of working.

So, Which Lash Glue Should You Choose?

If you prefer plenty of working time, P at 3–5 seconds may be the better starting point. If you're developing your speed and want something faster while maintaining more working time, P+ at 2–3 seconds may be more suitable. Experienced salon artists comfortable with a faster application may prefer S at around 1 second, while advanced artists with a quick and consistent technique may prefer S+ at 0.5–1 second. For artists using a compatible LED lash system, LED is the dedicated option.

Ultimately, there isn't one professional lash glue that will be perfect for every artist. The best lash glue for eyelash extensions is the one that works consistently with your working speed, technique and salon environment.

At LashLock, our adhesives were developed from real salon experience in Singapore, where we saw first-hand how differently lash artists work and how much consistency matters behind the lash bed. Rather than expecting every artist to adapt to one adhesive, we believe the adhesive should work with the artist.

Different speeds. Different artists. Find the formula that works with you.
